Job Summary
- We are looking for a versatile Data Analyst & Writer who blends analytical precision with creative storytelling to deepen audience engagement. The ideal candidate will use data insights to shape editorial direction, craft compelling stories (listicles), and drive measurable growth in readership and interaction across digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Audience Insights
- Analyse audience behaviour, traffic trends, and engagement data using Google Analytics 4, SQL, Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations that inform editorial strategy and content planning.
- Build reports and dashboards to track KPIs such as page views, retention, CTR, and session duration.
Writing & Content Creation
- Write and edit listicles, feature stories, and profile pieces that align with audience interests and editorial goals.
- Use data and SEO insights to guide story angles, headlines, and formats that maximise visibility and impact.
- Collaborate with editors to develop content that combines journalistic quality with engagement metrics.
Audience Growth & Engagement
- Leverage audience segmentation and data storytelling to boost engagement across web and social platforms.
- Spearhead data-driven content experiments that improve audience retention by 20–25%.
- Monitor performance of published content and iterate based on analytics-driven feedback.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with editorial, marketing, and product teams to align data insights with content strategy.
- Contribute to special projects, including M&A insights, trend analysis, and audience research reports.

- Deliver actionable insights that increase content visibility and drive sustained audience growth.
- Produce high-impact writing that meets or exceeds engagement and retention goals.
- Strengthen the link between data, storytelling, and strategic editorial decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in data analytics and content creation within a digital media or publishing environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, SQL, and Google Analytics 4.
- Strong writing and editing skills with proven ability to create engaging, insight-driven stories.
- Understanding of SEO, audience segmentation, and digital engagement metrics.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with data visualisation, sentiment analysis, or business intelligence tools.
- Familiarity with media analytics dashboards, newsroom data workflows, or storytelling automation tools.
- Interest in digital storytelling, public sentiment trends, and audience engagement innovations.
